You should read Nietzsche. I haven't read much of him but a lot of what he writes about is what to do in a world where God is non-existent and we don't have any purpose or meaning.
His solution is essentially The Will to Power. The quest to basically rise above the herd and exert yourself to the best of your ability. You could say its pointless but its basically just deciding to live for passion and power.
Another option would be trying to find if there is meaning internally, in our ideas. The mind is a mystery and much of spiritual cultivation is trying to delve deeper into the mind through meditation and ascetism. You could argue that this is pointless too but its basically choosing to live for cultivation of the mind and living in the moment.
I'd recommend reading a good bit of philosophy and working on self-improvement.
