>>39454643I'm the youngest of four siblings. There's a 7 year gap between me and my brother because I was born well after my parents had decided to stop having kids.
My sisters are both at over a decade older than me (I was an uncle before I was a teenager). They had both moved out by the time I was in middle school, and they were more like aunts to me than siblings. Apparently, I even used to call my oldest sister 'mommy'.
My brother was a nerdy loser like the rest of us whose friends consist mostly of people he met online, but to me he was the cool one I looked up to as a kid. I tried to read, watch, and play the things he and my male cousin did. To them, I was the annoying kid always trying to tag along. My brother would taunt me, and once or twice get frustrated enough to turn around and hit me in the nuts, but I figured I probably deserved it. I was annoying, and I did tend to antagonize.
He and my oldest sister live out of state, and I haven't seen either of them in years, with only the occasional phone call or internet post on birthdays or holidays.
My other sister lives less than a half hour away, and after mom died last year she wants to keep in touch more. When my schedule allows it I go over there for dinner with her, my brother-in-law, and her kids (and grandkid). I'll often end up spending more time with the kids when they ask me to play video games with them and stuff.
