>>39526001As someone who does own a Discord server for a very specific thing, interactivity and preventing it from falling into unrelated discussion is the biggest difficulties with it. There's also the worry about gatekeeping, because letting every mouth-breathing moron in and have completely free reign is a nightmare waiting to happen. A Discord server will absolutely stagnate, and not be exactly what you wanted from it when you created it. Not to mention that it only creates a circlejerk, and actively discourages discussion in other places. Everyone who wants to talk about the thing you want to discuss will just go to your server, and not branch out into other areas.
>>395260414chan is also pretty mainstream now, so it just makes the problem worse. It also doesn't help when Hiroshimoot hires absolute fucking retards as mods who just make up their own rules on the spot and ban anyone with a dissenting opinion. They'll leave up Twitter and BBC threads so they archive, but will go out of their way to target and harass threads like ours, even though we've literally been producing possibly the most OC a video game has received in a long fucking time, at least as far as 4chan standards go.
