>>39791874>>39793016>>39791874I'm not a real drawfag, but I did do some random sketches/drawn edits for a few threads across several boards.
Most of the shit I learned (aside from regular art class at school back then) came and comes from said edits and working for scanlation groups.
Among other skills, it teaches you a lot about drawing different types of lines that sometimes have a target elsewhere on the page, layering, focusing on details where necessary and filling in blank parts in general so you don't or barely notice it's not original. Further, you get to know professional artists' styles, because you have to somewhat recreate them, learn about drawing proportions, anatomy and spotting mistakes (yes, even pros can do quite a few).
Occasionally, I even do assisting sketches based on previous appearances of what ever I need to fix, because I don't understand how what's missing works and how would fit in with the original drawing.
You might have to learn additional skills in regards to what ever software you're using to be really good at it (especially when going from monochrome to full color), but it's pretty much how I started "drawing" semi-regularly in my free time without getting stuck with not knowing what to draw or where to begin.
This even prevents you from getting flamed for your shitty art too much (you don't know how comparatively bad most scanlation edits actually are) and lets you be productive without keeping everything to yourself (read: it'll save you the embarrassment of everyone just laughing at the pic you just spent hours on drawing, because they're preoccupied with reading the page) while giving others the chance to still give feedback on what you did.
