she'd be high-functioning, but slip up some of the time, particularly in response to stressful life circumstances. this ironically would make her symptoms worse because of worrying. her character development would be going through a psychotic episode, having friends and acquaintances from school find her and take care of her, and learning they'll all help look after her.
I think distrusting non-disabled people works better, though.
