No. After v1, the only penalty of death is that your mag loses 5% Synchro and if you go back to the ship you lose all your on-hand money. Blue Burst servers don't seem to be able to replicate the money thing but it's never really been a big deal anyway; money grows on trees.

Okay, after many years, I've decided to give it another go on Schthack. I have two chars, a 130 and a 30ish, but I can create some new chars for low level stuff.

I'm up for anything but I'm pretty meh for Ult. If anyone wants I can post char names and we can party.

exp penalty was indeed a thing

When the servers were closing, they decided to remove this and raise the exp and drop rate multipliers, but by default death penalty existed.

Would discourage people from doing shit like TTF at level 1 and make them git gud.

It would also mean there would be no more public parties, everyone would be too afraid of losing exp so they'd only play with a few people each.

No more fun builds like slicer force unless you want to solo.
