Next to VI FFV is my favorite Final Fantasy. The story, which may be simple, is fun, the characters are fantastic and it was the last FF until IX where I felt like I was going on an adventure and not a grim-dark journey fueled by destiny(which isn't bad, but it wore on me). The stuff with Galuf was great, the twists with Faris were cool, and Bartz was a great protagonist. The only one I never became particularly fond of was Lenna, as she seemed kind of bland. Exdeath is a hugely underrated villain, as he managed to do what Kefka did(destroy the world) and Sephiroth(kill a beloved main character) in one game. And I don't need to say anything about Gilgamesh. Would totally be bros with that guy. The game also has some of the best music of the series and is probably one of Uematsu's greatest works, next to VI and X. I love this game, and wish more people who claim to like FF played it, as it is the most underrated.
And fuck Neo Shinryu.
