It doesnt necessarily have to be from the point of view of Locke, for example, the entire time either. It could follow some or all of the characters at different points and covered some of the totally unknown shit that came up during that WHOLE YEAR. Some characters may have even met up and formed their own temporary parties as paths crossed etc until they all eventually separated again (most characters somehow lose hope in their own way, or whatev). And then Celes wakes up and becomes Terra, that single ray of shining light in that box banon once talked about, hope
This could have been so engrossing instead of "check it out, its a super-boss for no reason!!!" and "heres a weapon that hits for 9999 too, but its cooler!"
