They are basically buying the audience and potential customers to advertise their products to. Which they already started with this Galaxy movie or whatever it is called, Star Wars is probably the next on the list.
A product is more likely to convince someone to spend money on it when the endorsement comes from someone you are familiar with or believe to know on a personal level.
That is what they are taking advantage of with the buy out of Maker.

I hate that all of these big YouTube channels are making 1-3 minute long SDCC videos and releasing a fuckton of them instead of just doing 1 or 2 longer videos each day. If a thing you're covering can only fill 50 seconds after the intro and outro are edited in then that thing doesn't deserve its own fucking video.

You're right on your 1st point, that dress isn't flattering on her at all. The tattoos, meh. They're alright, they go with her hair and general alt style which that dress doesn't match at all though.
