>>267006443Allow me to point out just how divorced the games are from the anime, lmao. In the games they really are disposable creatures, there's not much that makes them unique, but the anime is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE, they're chosen ones, soul-bonded to their kids, evolving with emotions and character development, with their own personalities and involvement in the story. It's crazy that they never found a way to do that for the games.
Ironically the Pokémon games are closer to that, giving you your beloved starter at the beginning of the game and everyone loved sticking with them until the end, some kids even power-trained that one mon and never used others, it grows stronger with each battle and evolves at key moments (level 16, level 36..) in which you're expected to go against stronger foes. Then you have contests, hall of fame, and other little things that actually make you grow attached to your mon, if at least because you can store them in the pc and use when needed you trained a water type? Great there's a fire boss, time to get it from the pc, the game allows your trained creatures to shine at some moments.
Fuck just do Persona 4 with Digimon. High-school setting with adventures on the side.
