Apparently a Credit Card Company (or multiple ones) complained, not sure on the details there, but IMO it's bullshit pushing this supposedly moral agenda on a page that was always about supporting those who have no support net and being about creative freedom.
Sure there were a lot of scams on Patreon, but tbh, whoever invests a lot in those particular developers and then feels betrayed maybe should have seen the signs early and pulled back their money instead of falling for the scheme. I mean that's why sites like this here exist, where we can share versions and try them out and THEN support them if we want to.
Especially considering probably more than 50% of the Patreon pages existing have SOMETHING to do with porn, be it deviantart/HF artists, adult game devs, fanfictions writers or 3D animators.
We live in a time where free speech is all the more important, and the internet always provided this to us.
I don't care if what could "technically" be called minors are present in a game, if incest is a part of it or anything. As long as it is fictional - effectively NOT REAL - those idiots should come of their high horses and stop this madness. No matter if you are someone who just enjoys loli/incest content in fiction but not irl or if you are an actual pedophile, in the end it is infinitely better to "live out" your fantasies in FICTION than to go out there and do it for real. And those works of fiction I would argue even prevent some people from doing these things in reality.
The very notion of thinking to BAN those things from the world of fiction in order to reduce the real life events will definitely backfire. I have some psychological know-how, dabbling in similar fields myself.
And the ban of things like beastiality - which ridiculously enough includes (humanoid) monster-porn (such as Orcs, Tauren, Werewolves) in their minds, is even more ridiculous.
Again. It's fiction. No one (no human nor animal) gets hurt. Stop this shit Patreon!
