Ever since I was born, I've always had a remarkably strong interest in cartoons. Whether it's 2D, CG, Stop-Motion, or everything in-between, I can't help but appreciate animation for its artistry alone. As a result, this made me try my absolute hardest to be just as good as those who have inspired me. I'll have to admit, trying to find the "right way" to animate has been like trying to find a /co/ thread where some schizzo isn't completely shitting up the place. I've come across quite a few people who teach animation in a rather stubborn way. However, I've also come across some slightly lesser known names that have taught me more about animation than every tutorial on YouTube combined. (Ron Doucet, Bob Jaques, and Kelly Armstrong are a few names off the top of my head.) The reason I made this thread is because I'm not sure if anyone will want to hire me based on my overall lack of experience. My way of studying is extremely orthodox, since I'm often tracing over certain details to see how character acting works. I have an extremely simplistic understanding of how the art-form works, yet I'm able to get a decent grasp by studying the works of my favorite Carbunkle Cartoons/Mercury Filmworks animators. At the same time, part of me thinks I'm a hack and that all my stuff will remain in web purgatory. Perhaps I'm selling myself too short, but I wouldn't count on it

If you're honestly skilled enough that you can create and deliver a finished animated work within a deadline, I don't see why a studio looking for that wouldn't want to hire you. Maybe try getting some more perspective from others (that you trust the judgement of) on where your animation and art skills actually stand. If you hear good things you'll get the validation to feel more confident in your work, if not you'll get some ideas of things you can improve and you'll at least have something to focus on other than your doubts.

>>142138443 That lady very likely had a bunch of work she did on her own to show off.
That's really the biggest marker of making it or not.
You can want to make comics or cartoons- but the people who will actually succeed ALREADY made comics and cartoons on their own. Maybe they're crude or amateur, but they're making them. I see a ton of people who want to be in the industry, but where are the comics they've made? you see successful cartoonists and they have comics and flipbooks going back to when they were 7 or 8.
If you're not already trying..you very likely don't want it enough.

I'm not intending to spoil much, but I plan on making a variety show where fans decide which fictional shows get "picked up" for a series.

>>142075191 No, if you didn't have niggers and trannies to blame for household appliances not lasting by design, planned obsolescence, you might actually figure out that taxing the wealthy, taxing Blackrock and regulating them more is good and makes a lot of sense as their money and power conflicts with our ability to own a house and start a family.
You see the results of unlimited wealth with no regulation and they're free to lobby all they want with politicians who shadow box with the concept of diversity and ESG.

>>142075295 >taxing the wealthy you mean overtaxing them, and they'd just move to tax havens and you'd lose on all the taxes they pay now
>taxing Blackrock and regulating them they hold america by the balls in more ways than one, they definitely don't need people blaming esg (which they only really started doing in the last few years) to stop politicians from doing anything to or about them

>>142075392 >overtaxing It's odd how protective you are against regulating and taxing lobbyist transactions. It looks like you're coping with a defeatist mindset and you can't even imagine taxation and regulation as a solution, so all you really have is falling for their bait.
