As bad as Family Guy is, it is still not the worst adult animated show on TV.
It's magnitudes above Brickleberry, Big Mouth, Fairy Tales & Mr. Pickles. It's also better than the entirety of FX's animation block. It's not as bad as Bordertown either. On an episode by episode basis it and South Park aren't that far apart in terms of quality for the last eight years.
It attracts more hate than some other shows due to its massive popularity and success, despite it being better than the majority of adult cartoons.

I don't get the plot of the Mario Bros. Movie. Is it just me? Why do Mario and Luigi look alike? That doesn't make any sense. Why do they wear gloves? they look silly. Why are there so many references? I was on my phone for a majority of the movie, and if a movie can't keep my attention then it fails
