I'll start

>Lois is mad at Peter for some reason
Awww geez Lois, it could be worse. Like the time I had Oddparents
>cut to a Sarah McLachlan ASPCA animal shelter commercial, with puppies. The camera cuts to Peter sitting on the couch watching TV, Cosmo and Wanda from The Fairly Oddparents hovering behind him
Hey Cosmo, Wanda, I have a few wishes.
>cut to Peter playing with a Fushigi while wearing Heely's, a snuggie, and a Power Balance bracelet, giggling to himself

Why are DCAU fans like this?

No.145265858 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Why do they always try to say characters that were never in the DCAU are in it or overthink little details?

Bullies

No.145905632 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Does anything I actually show real bullies and how bullying functions and develops?

Most cartoon bullies are really surface level and don't reflect real world bullies, or st least not age accurate bullies.

Like...all bullies are based on a stereotype from the 1st and 2nd grade. Even if the characters are teenagers or mid twenties, the bullies act like small children.

The only real examples I can think of are like JEM or the live action Mean Girls. And even then, its pretty over the top. Nothing really captures the subtle way bullies operate and how they see themselves as moral agents. They really think they are out to stop some social evil by putting the main character in their place

One thing that made SpongeBob so groundbreaking was that it had adult humor in a kids show. Before this, cartoons were always thought of as being for kids (With obvious exceptions like The Simpsons) and every adult really didn't watch kids cartoon, but then SpongeBob came out and despite it being a kids cartoon, adults ended up loving it. At one point, nearly two-fifths of the show's audience was adults

SpongeBob was the first kids cartoon to have adult humor and for that, its one of the most groundbreaking and influential shows. I still cant believe they got away with the dont drop the soap gag in a kids show
