How come western animation doesn't have this kind of humor or scenes, considering it's a very universal type of comedy?

FX going all in on those webcomic adaptations. First Poorly Drawn Lines and now Swan Boy.

Sorry no Youtube clips yet.

Batman: Caped Crusader - Honest Review

No.144761550 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
It's ok. I only watched one episode and it was entertaining enough to finish it. I intend to finish the series but I don't have high hopes for the rest of it.

There's some good stuff happening here, but the whole thing is dragged down by ugly art, atrocious animation, terrible voice acting, and DEI shit. Most of the major characters have been race swapped or gender swapped. Penguin is trans now, Gordon and Barbera are black, Harley is Asian. Making pointless changes to major characters like this leaves a bad impression.

Also, there's a lot of black people in this show. I really don't care if there's black people, but in the first episode there were so many black people that I found myself questioning why there were so many. Does it take place in Baltimore or something? It was really weird that there were so many.

Batman's voice actor was the worst of the entire episode (and it's low bar because the whole cast is bad). While most of the cast was terrible, most of them are at least tolerable. Batman's voice was not tolerable. I really don't care that it's not Kevin Conroy, we've had depictions of Batman without him before and I enjoyed those, but whoever they hired for this needs to be blacklisted from the industry.

I intend to finish the series because I like Batman and I'll stick around to see if anything interesting happens, but I expect the rest of it will be like this first episode was: a story that's decent enough to sit through but is dragged down by bad animation, ugly art, some of the worst voice acting I have ever heard (this is not an exaggeration by any means), and DEI bullshit.
