>>145175984the only way it could be good is if the show isn't afraid of allowing the MC to be the bad guy. Seeing as how it's pretty apparent it's autobiographical, I don't think it would go that route. The creator will feel okay with poking fun at herself for the various ways she felt out of place being a Canadian in LA (and a myriad of tired "millennial" tropes like how she prefers texting to talking on the phone or something avocado toast related), but she doesn't seem self-aware enough to be able to objectively portray herself as anything other than the hero.
It's basically going to be Sex in the City, but the MC is a composer instead of a writer and will be a touch more bohemian. If it was released by a network, it would get one season where they'd try to hype it up as "brave" and "refreshing", but the "jokes" would be predictable, the MC would be insufferable, and the show would be cancelled after 1 season. The people making the biggest fuss about the cancellation online will be those who didn't bother to watch it.
