>celestia and luna episode should just be the same fucking siblings fight plot everyone has already seen in every other media form everThis applies to almost every other episode in the show, from season 1 to season 9, I don't think that's really a fault as long as the execution is good, I mean, Look Before You Sleep and Sweet and Elite are two of the best episodes in the show, and both are proved concepts done to death before, it's this specific cast of characters and story what makes them distinct and good.
>adding depth or exploring a secondary character when you give them their own episode?That's literally what the episode did, it established that because of the different things they have to do as Princesses of the Sun and the Moon they have, basically, opposing interests and it explores how that can cause a rift in their relationship, all while building from what we already knew about them (Celestia disliking formalities and finding a lot of her royal life boring -> she likes extreme sports and adventures) because it is Celestia and Luna and their respective backstories it is already different from Sisterhooves Social. You could argue that it was already done in A Royal Problem, and, sure, the fight part it was, but the conflict arose from a completely different situation so it wasn't really the same. Other than that, yeah, I don't think it was a great episode, as I said, it was okay, I just don't see this "character assassination".
