I say there should be an episode- or even better, a two-parter- where Zecora has to go back to her homeland to settle a score with her evil enchantress sister or basically, the plot from 'Witches Abroad' and at first takes Starlight along with her for assistance and also because it seems like Starlight getting involved with a character gets them a lot of development rather often, and Zecora needs to escape the whole Magical Negro trope anyway. Along the way comes a problem that neither of them can properly solve, until they meet a vagrant Lightning Dust. By the time the story's over, Zecora and Lightning Dust have gotten the development they desperately need, and as a bonus, we'd have gotten to see more of the setting too.

Two birds with one stone and whatnot.

Honestly, I thought the show was going to go in that direction, of Starlight going around and befriending the fuckups from past episodes to show that not everyone will be your friend, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve friendship with someone. There's a reason To Where and Back Again was such a good finale.
Putting these side character in the spotlight to give them more character makes the show as a whole better.Please take the hint Hasbro executive who totally watches this thread.

The closest thing I can compare it to was the Fluttershy builds a sanctuary episode. Where they had a problem for no reason and then pulled a solution out of thin air that they should have started with. And then they streeeeeeetched it out over two episodes. EQG maybe, but theres a reason we have an entire board dedicated to containing our autism. When mlp first released it was spammed on every single board, and every native hated our guts. Those feelings probably haven't gone away, not entirely. It'd be easier to just find active writers and invite them into our thread.

As a /u/ native, I can tell you that it's dedicated to two things: image dumping, and "discussion" (read: shipping wars, complaints, anticipation shivers over new episodes/manga volumes, and feels when we get denied promises of forbidden love). There's always a drawthread and General thread going, though. Most greentext there is short, one-post jokes, I don't think I've ever seen a thread with a lot of greens at all even though there should be.

Outside of the big two of /pol/ and /v/ most boards are slow. Even as slow as /mlp/ feels, it's a quick board with all the shitposting. And it's only gotten faster. I first popped into the lesbo thread with Green isn't your color, and that thread was 2 months before it got filled up. Now we can push out a thread a week, even with only 40 posters on average. /u/ is really slow though. But I'm sure their posters are spread between lot's of boards dealing with lewd hand holding. Us horsefuckers, we got here and /trash/, so it makes sense that it's not so dead.

I think feedback is kind of a hard thing to expect from this thread anyway. All the greens that get made are never flat out rejected as trash. And the idea that feedback might be seen as rude if you're not actually a writer yourself, so of course most of the responses the story chains will be 'good work' and 'love it cant wait for more' or 'sickmeme.jpg'. I know as a writer that must suck, but as green thirsty anons, scaring away the writefriends is probably why you don't get more constructive feedback.

I kinda took this to mean that people weren't really interested in my shit and stopped producing. See, I'm really interested in getting better, but I kind of feel like being my own critic will lead to stagnation and incorrect conclusions and I'll just write the same weird, esoteric dribble nobody really likes forever. Practice only makes perfect if you practice perfection, see.

I basically just stick to arguments, since people immediately respond to those with and endless array of criticisms, valid and otherwise.

This basically all just means that this community isn't really a good fit for my writing anyway, so it's all good.

I don't have that creative itch in me, but I know plenty of people that do and I understand how disheartening that can be when you pour time and effort into something and it just turns into more background radiation in the universe. The issue is it's all black and white around this board. Either folk are just happy that they got to read new content and will give you empty (you)s or the thread police will rip you a new one for not fulfilling their self insert fantasies. Looking for critique on places like this is hard, writing here is for fun, and if you get better at writing that's a bonus, because the majority here don't write so good, so advice on how to improve will be almost nonexistent; unless it's from other writers themselves. And just to rub more salt in the wound, you talking about how you don't get feedback unless you start an argument probably got more feedback than the last thing you wrote :C

I write on other threads and it's very hit-or-miss. Sometimes a green I worked carefully on barely gets an acknowledgement and other time some half-assed crap gets several more (you)s. It gets a bit disheartening at times, especially when it's a thread with a popular writefag as they end up overshadowing the rest.

This actually bugs me, because my lewd is pretty tame. I just hate writing it, it's not fun at all for me. Pumping out lewd after lewd to gain an audience just isn't worth it when that's what they'd demand. Nah, writing even for a niche audience is so much more fulfilling than having an audience for something I hate doing. It makes me appreciate the people who like my writing even more, because I realize well that sad greens aren't everyone's fortes.

Well this thread took an unexpected turn. Honestly I think this is the worst site for feedback on writing, expect for maybe the occasional writefag improvement thread and maybe /lit/(I don't go there so I'm just assuming). I would say writing in fimfiction might yield better results, but as the top stories is also mostly filled with generic lewd I'm not sure if that's any better. I'm glad you writefags take your stuff a little more seriously than most. I legit cried at some of the greens. I'm sorry we don't usually have much to say about your work beyond simple praise. So, it may not seem like much, but I've gotten the inking done for the Gilda-on-a-bike picture (aside from a few lines on the engine there, but I'm too tired at the moment to bother). I went and redid Gilda's hair a bit too, giving it a bit more of an upward, kinda... I dunno, maybe 'wave' or 'shift' is the word I want to use to describe it? It's not enough to be a curl, and it's not up enough to be a lift, so... whatever! But yeah, for some reason, the idea struck me of Gilda having Elly Jackson's hair, it makes her look even gayer (if you ask me).

While I prefer Sunset and princess Twi, I did always like how Sunset is like a big sister to SciTwi. Going further with that kind of relationship is always interesting. Don't really see too many readers explore that well. The closest I've seen was this one fic where Sunset turns into a vampire, but it's brief and wasn't the focus of the story.

It's not that Sonata doesn't share, it's just that last night was her turn. Sunset's got more than enough gay for them all, but if you don't give each individual in your harem some special time with you, they all start feeling less like lovers and more like concubines.
