G5 brings about reincarnation as I already mentioned. This is absolutely no different from when Transformers reincarnates characters, and when Starscream comes about for each new universe.
So lets take this a step further. This has already happened once before woth EQG Rarity. EQG Rarity is another case of this "reincarnation". Here she is still the same gold hearted, fashion loving character, yet she is in a younger enviornment. Where as FIM Rarity is more adult like, EQG Rarity is a younger more inexperienced counterpart and it's just as wonderful to see her experiences knowing she is a reincarnation of the same idea.
So my expectation is based off of past experiences. If Starscream can continously be written as the same comparable character then I have full confidence Rarity can too, even if there are minor differences. In fact I want to see that. Maybe she's more magically powerful, maybe she's closer to Fluttershy this time around. Sure she might not kick a manticore in the face this time around but what's not to say she doesn't punch a dragon in the head in G5?
And to be this pessimissitic based off of no material I don't know wjat to say to you other than it's your choice. I'm basing my thoughts off of past experiences with other brands (TF, GI Joe etc) and now am glad to see MLP join that standard with character values being solidified for generations.
