Not a lot of fantasy creatures can fill that role as perfectly as the goblin can. If they're still recognizable as goblins while simply changing one characteristic from disgusting to monstrous-but-can-be-cute then why not if the setting allows it?
Also having a cute goblin thread isn't necessarily an invitation to sexualize them. Yes it'll happen, that'll vary from anon to anon and their reactions. If you talk about making a design more attractive that can range from making them cute in a non-sexual manner like the OP image or sexy like a lot of the other goblin posts in this thread. It's a broad subject and you can't just narrow everything not ugly into a coomerbait category.
