>>94065576>their critic (who writes walls of text for most basic shit by the way) is an ESL that barely understands the context of the language or it's finer intricaciesI'll assume this refers to me, although I never called myself a "critic".
1. Initially, I tried to keep the reviews shorter, but not only did it require more work, from a perspective of a writefag, I think I'd prefer extra info about my work, even if the coherency of it suffers. Me getting lazier with it and letting the bloat creep in is a valid point, but considering how people reacted to them, I think the effort/benefit ratio works well enough.
2. As for doing it for the most basic shit, again, look at it from a perspective of a writefag. I'd prefer more comments than less. Someone put in an effort to work on something, I can repay it at least in this minor form.
3. I regularly put a reminder that I'm an ESL for a reason. My opinions should be taken with a grain of salt, and with the ones, I'm extra unsure about, I try to highlight that fact even more. It's usually not so much as "this is good/bad" and more "I liked this/maybe take a second look at this". It's all just subjective opinions, and often not even that, often it's just me asking for some extra explanation. I'd say, based on the comments I got here in the past, that while I'm certainly far from an expert, calling it "barely understanding" is saying a bit much. Your standards might be a bit too high.
4. Speaking of standards. This is just a place to have fun. We aren't professionals, and this isn't real art. If we MHAfags can have fun with it, then I'd say that's enough, and we're doing a good job. If we improve while we're at it, then that's just a bonus. Your preference about how the thread should be run is just that, your preference. If more people shared it, there is nothing really stopping you from realizing that dream. Blaming threadslaves or MHA won't help.
