>>94147205>What part interested you? Fantasy, RPG dungeons, and Beri, I suppose? It's a genre I like combined with an author who's works I generally have fun with. If I had to name an aspect that was well done, it'd be the monster section, which is sadly one of the last things you end up doing. Most CYOAs tend to just let the player pick from monsters and that's the end of it, so getting more depth into customizing them was nice.
>Was there something in it that would inspire your future projects?Hmm... I'm generally familiar with how Beri lays out his CYOAs, so there wasn't a lot of new territory explored for me. I think I have been reminded that having modifiers is a great way to provide more diversity without offering hundreds of options. I.E. make a section that offers a decent number of things, and then another section that offers a number of changes you can make to anything in the first section.
>Pic rel. You basically build a team of agents to go into an anomaly zone. Gotcha. On my end, I've never been a fan of companion sections, waifu pickers, team builders, etc. Something along the lines that I can appreciate them as a way to learn more about the setting, but something about choosing specific NPCs as an option rubs me the wrong way.
>I was always a sucker for a bit more grounded settings that had guns in it. I always like having at least a little unrealistic aspects, but I'm pretty alright low power settings with guns. I don't mind when melee options aren't present or competitive either. I just like having some options you wouldn't see in reality, like crazy overengineered sniper rifles, spec-ops groups with near-invisibility suits, etc.
