>>39347157Yes, 24 hours ago I was as skeptical as you, and only learned about this game from this sticky.
It is legit good, very good.
And this is from someone who:
>hates Anon self-insertsHe's just your typical VN main character but with 4chan cringe replacing the regular cringe. Him being human is frontloaded to inoculate you and never interferes with the story.
>find the designs uglyThey grow on you. The game more than stands on it's own in spite of the designs, but they've grown on me. Even the stupid fucking beak.
I think Undertale is the same? Few would say Alphys or Sans have great designs or anything, but people like their personalities and grow attached to the rest.
>hate romance wish-fulfillmentThis was my biggest surprise, it's not a story about "getting the girl to fall for you", it's a much deeper story of self-actualization, about helping the girl you grow to like self-actualize and discover herself, and all the people intersecting your lives along the way, rather than a game about a girl who falls the role you want her to. You "getting the girl" is just the sweet cherry on top.
This, apparently, comes as a result of /lit/ tearing the early script for the game apart, and I'm pretty sure had this not happened, I would not have enjoyed the game enough to still be posting about it.
>hate memesHere they actually help, a romance high school VN is kinda cringe to begin with, the shitposting never, ever interferes with serious moments or the story, but act as an excellent grounding tool, if that makes sense.
Or as I said in the paragraph about Anon, it inoculates you. If you are cringing at bad memes, you WON'T be cringing five minutes later when a stupid fictional beaked punkrock dinosaur is having an emotional breakdown as you normally would, at least that was my experience.
So yeah, it is legit very, very good. Download it for free, give it 10-15 minutes, if you're not hooked, what did you lose?
