>”Oh my god dude, listen to the WORDS! Listen to what this guy is SAYING! He had a dispute with another person and he just explained with lyrics why he is actually COOLER than that person! This is what music is all about! Can you believe he just SAID that? So frickin’ cool! I’m gonna keep bumpin’ his shit so I can follow how this personal drama unfolds!”
That is what music is to you? That’s the extent of your intelligence? That’s the depth of your thinking and life experience? That’s what you give your time, attention and energy to?
Shut the fuck up you fatherless, suburban white faggots. You aren’t “part of the culture”. You never will be. Black people will never accept you or think you’re cool. You can stop seeking their approval now.

Something about this site depresses me. Someday, every obscure album you love is going to be "trendy" on RYM, it will get a huge crowd of fans who love it for the "aesthetic", a 3.87 rating, and yet something feels empty. All music is treated the same, just an object to consume, something to rate and add to your RYM chart. Music is no longer a journey of personal exploration, an algorithm will dig up everything half-way decent and show it to anyone even if they're not looking. There is nothing personal about sharing music anymore, nothing will remain hidden, everything is prostituted for the content mill. It's the death of music culture
Anyone else feel this way or am I just depressed?
