>You have been muted for 2 seconds, because your comment was not original. Fuck you, the only one who should be muted is you for shitting up /a/ over and over like this.
I'm really not okay with this ban. Why should somebody be allowed to make the claim that "there is no such thing as race" or that ""racists" are stupid" without allowing us to explain ourselves? Seems pretty fucking fascist to me.
The problem I have with 4chan is the fact that so many users post out of the need to please others and to be looked on favorably by the community as a whole. If you get reported or banned for something you believe, you'll be less likely to support it. This may not seem like a big deal, but eventually everything you do has been influenced by what others have convinced you to believe. Communities like 4chan create robots out of their users, it encourages the idea that majority equals veracity.
I won't try and say the internet doesn't do this, but I feel not banning and deleting relevant threads that don't break the rules just because no less than two people don't like it and reported it creates a more open atmosphere for the beliefs of all the minorities.
Reported has basically just come to be used to ban posts you don't like.
So on /a/, we have these kind of shitty weekend waifu drawthreads, that have been going on for over a year now. People post their waifus, drawfags draw some of them, people have a good time.
But in the downtime between making requests and waiting for deliveries, a lot of the thread devolves into pure shitposting, with people bitching about each other, whining about not getting deliveries, or posting bullshit to get the rest of the thread riled up. Weekend waifu threads always hit the post limit, and at least 300 posts a thread are pure shitposting.
So enter Mr. Janitor, who wants to help the threads. But he doesn't have the time to devote to babysitting a thread all fucking weekend. If we're lucky, he might delete shitposting in one thread, and get a mod to ban some of the worst offenders for the weekend. But everyone knows bans do nothing.
So instead of moderating the threads, he just deletes every thread that starts before Saturday, when we've spent years starting them on Friday night. Given that's when the weekend starts. It's an utterly fruitless effort that just pisses people off, and it makes zero sense.
Although I do appreciate the work that team 4chan has done to give clear, concise reasons for one's banishment, I feel that certain discrepancies have occurred as such. For instance, I was b& for Global Rule 3 on /b/, which is not said to be enforced upon the rules page. I understand that it is up to the moderators to decide who and what deserves to be b&, but it should be cleared up on the rules page as well.
Well, to sum up what I wish to ask, Is global rule 3 to be enforced on /b/? Is this the end of all gets on 4chan, even on /b/? I understand that one moderator wishes to remove all gets, but is there a general consensus that this necessary in the moderating circles?
Also, if global rule 3 is to be enforced on /b/, could you make a sticky of it (preferably with T-rex (dubstep) attached, a brilliant youtube music video)? P.S. I accidentally posted this as a reply, so I had to wait a while to post and then had to modify both my picture and post content to avoid being muted. Maybe differentiate between original posts and replies when it comes to muting? Just another thought.
