I don't know about my fellow antianime people, but I'm only antianime because it's funny. I like watching anime and I don't mind the images, but I find anybody who considers the media they consume an important part of who they are to be worthy of mockery. The idea that they get mad about the possible future of not being able to post anime is really funny. There isn't a single thing in this life that I care about that much. If you told me that I could only post on 4chan if I had a photo of Brian Cranston next to my post, I'd go collect pictures of him. If you told me that I had to post moé girls, I'd do that.
I've seen Anons post these gorgeous impassioned speeches about how important everything is to them, and how cancer killing /b/ is bad or whatever, and I feel like I'm some kind of space alien or something because I never have, and never will, care about anything that much. Like, imagine if instead of anime it was something like hand towels. People really fucking want to post different hand towels and then one guy starts posting shamwows on /to/ and it freaks everybody the FUCK OUT because it's not a real towel. It's more like a shammy or a sponge from Germany. This is a TOWEL website for TOWEL enthusiasts. That's how I feel about this whole debate. It makes no sense. So I picked a side at random and I throw out little jabs whenever I think it might make something funny happen. I call it "Troll Golf" when I try to get the angry bellyacher to respond with ever increasing character counts while using the fewest words myself, limiting myself to use no currently popular buzzwords.
At the end of the day, nothing bothers me and everything's fun. My favorite is when I actually lose arguments. It's always pleasantly surprising to find somebody who can actually articulate a point on 4chan. It makes all of their passions feel legitimate, occasionally hitting me with this sensuous melancholy. I feel like the things I've been doing are immoral. I long for that sadness.
