the format is based on trees and I got a reply within a day to a post I made; it was probably the admin though. It's hard to get regular English users because
lee ebin macro image meme is so engraved into people's mind who might even hear about textboards and even if people who don't use imageboard hear about it they might also already be addicted to the narcissism inherent of western social media and reject the idea of a textboard or worse, treat it like an IRC chat. I think that we could start building up the people who post regularly on textboards if there was a real one on 4chan, /news/ is not a textboard. Then via osmosis they'd branch out and give more activity to those other places if they truly like textboards.
