1. If you want to run something distasteful but legal your problems will be with advertising and payment networks more than hosts. And, like, not having illegal content.
2. If you can't get consensus for something it's probably not a good idea anyway. Some of those differences are for technical reasons and some are just historical.
3. /fitlit/ was good. Maybe something geolimited like Nextdoor but Nextdoor boomers are even ruder than anons so that's a tough audience.
4. I used to but don't now to test the ~pure experience~. Could use an offsite thread watcher though.
5. It seems fine as a captcha but we also rely on it being kind of annoying to deter manual spammers and some of the features make it too friendly for that.
