>>4440078First to clarify this response has nothing to do with defending the posts you were rebutting, since both those posts lack any proper context and it was more of a generalization on those who are “against the sciences”; however, I can’t help but notice how you emphasize about rationalism and science but fail to see how those who promote anti-mask and anti-lockdowns stance lack any rationalism whatsoever. The anti-COVID scientists, if you actually read their studies are always from and funded by think tanks of the anti-government/libertarian side, basically those of paranoia. The narrative they’re trying hard to push is always about how the virus is overblown and restrictions are part of a social control trying to normalize a future where people do not have any liberties. The “science” and “studies” are nothing more but smoke and mirrors conducted by corrupted and greedy eggheads just so that it might appeal reasonable to those who are untrained, to those who lack any rationalism. Obviously those leaning right would use these findings as a reason to endanger lives, even though contrary countries that impose strict restrictions might impact the country’s economy and liberty in the short run, in the long run results are seen with very low cases and eventually people are free to move about without becoming a statistic. I’m establishing my argument from both the United States and India which are both the highest and second highest respectively, both of which do not impose strict lockdown especially when it comes to movement of people.
