You groan as your alarm clock rings for what seems to be the hundredth time. You had stayed up almost all night doing more research on the "internet" to catch up to current events. Naturally, the US Navy totally kicked Japan's ass after the war, and you still feel quite a bit of pride knowing that even today, the USN was still the most powerful naval force in the world.

What was even more amusing was that battleships and cruisers had been phased out in favor of carriers, submarines, and DESTROYERS. Destroyer pride, bitches!

But that did mean you didn't quite get as much sleep that you probably really should have. You're finally convinced to open when you feel somebody yank your blanket away.

"Come on, get up." Heerman sighs, tossing your blanket across the room and out of your reach.

"Five more minuuuuuuuuuuuutes." You groan.

"You said that thirty minutes ago." Heerman shakes her head.

"Come on, Hoel! We have a mission today!" Johnston says happily. She was awfully chipper today. "I thought you were looking forward to that!"

Well, she was right, actually. You give a big yawn and slowly get up and check the time. You still had a little over an hour to report to duty.

You stand back and watch as Jessica and Abigail continue reassembling the strange machine out of parts Jessica has lying around the warehouse. You got told to stand back and watch, since you clearly had no idea what was going on.

Apparently taking tech class in high school a couple times doesn't prepare you for working on complex magical machinery. Who knew?

So here you are, standing at a safe distance and trying your damnedest not to stare at Abigail's butt as she does something underneath the machine.

It sounds like she's hitting something with a wrench under there..

"There!" Abigail says, as she stands up, wipes her brow, shakes her hair back, and adjusts her glasses.

Yes, it turns out that Abigail wears glasses. Her vision is good enough that she only needs them for finer work like writing, or working on complex magical machines. She wears a light, fashionable pair of thin, half rimmed glasses that are in desperate need of some adjusting, as they are constantly sliding down her nose.

Abigail skips over to you, and hugs your arm.

"So... now what?" You ask.
"Now we use it" Abigail says, practically bouncing with excitement.
"You mean... quantify someone?" You ask. "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

Mostly ripping from Fallout and Bioshock as it hit me how well they could potentially mix so this is a test. May steal a bit from other sources like say STALKER but no promises.

Welcome to the end of the world. When the bombs fell, shit hit the fan, and now we are stuck in the aftermath.

SPECIAL system will be used.

Traits and perks are available from all fallout sources though i may need to adjust things in terms of fallout 4. You can choose whatever you want.

You may vote for three tagged skills.
You may vote whether to use Fallout 4 or previous Fallouts SPECIAL point distribution. This means if you choose say Fallout 4 you gain either an extra stat point or perk every level at the cost of greatly hampering your starting SPECIAL at 28 instead of the usual 40.

I will say there will be chances in game to increase your SPECIAL but they'll be rarer then ones that can increase your skills.

Even after the long walk through the eastern forests, the time taken walking the last few miles to the manor helping along Lucus' damaged golem feel frustratingly long. Plenty of people stop to stare, or at least give a sideways glance as they hury by, curiosity overcoming decorum as they see the Raziel helping along another half-broken old golem, stooping to support the slightly smaller artifice. I would like to hope it looks dignified, but I have my doubts.

Soon, the walls of the manor stand before us, and I help Ose in through the gate first before Raziel passes through, the entranceway not really designed to allow two golems to pass through side by side. By the time I've helped Lucus' golem over to rest on the grass next to the hanger, we seem to have attracted a small crowd of staff.

Lucus powers down what flickering life remains in the golem as Raziel kneels, both cockpits opening, though Lucus' requiring a few sharp kicks from within to make the dented, rusting steel react to his commands.

“Lord Sief, welcome home,” a familiar voice calls, Loren beaming up at me from the ground as I climb down Raziel's kneeling form.

“It's good to be back, Loren,” I smile, glancing around.

Looks like there's a few other servants loitering respectfully, either out of curiosity or because they're expecting to be given something to do, while Virgil and his few remaining assistants emerge from the hanger to take a closer look at the two golems, the artificer blanching as he starts to recognize the full extent of the damage that he's going to be expected to fix.

You are Kyril Torikov, Level 3 telekinetic ‘business owner’, and you were working late. It wasn’t like you couldn’t put it off for tomorrow. Though with Lupin slated to act tomorrow, and your commitment to stopping her, you certainly didn’t want to leave things unfinished if you could help it. Your number’s man had class the very next day so you had told him to retire early for the night. The same could be said of your girlfriend. As for your right hand man, well he certainly had his own affairs to attend to. Besides, you had to know how your little ‘business’ in School District 10 was functioning. It was as you were finishing up for the night that you were aware of someone trying to sneak in to your top floor office.

The climb couldn’t have been easy, if it was a climb at all, and you had already dealt with one attempt at your life. This could very well be another. Thankfully you didn’t keep your gun on your desk so drawing and shooting would be the best course of action. Not only would you seize the initiative but also alert your henchmen in the building. That said, the intruder had yet to make a move. Other than slinking in to your office through the window, they looked like they were waiting for something. It could mean that they were here to talk, though the potential topics of discussion escaped you. That would allow you to finish up whatever you were doing. Or you could just greet them and get it over with. As sneaky as they were, they were not Tadakuni, or even Sagara.

Your R-22 slowly pulls in below your Barloz as the Vode An steers towards the two of you. “Look, maybe I broke your heart and betrayed your little gang of pirates and stole something incredibly venerable to the Vizsla household, but that doesn’t excuse holding a grudge.”

The response is a very swift Ion pulse to the Barloz’s thrusters. “We have lost power to engines,” states Lev. “We are currently drifting.” … okay, it seems like they’re not willing to talk.

“No time for talk now,” says Erma. “You’re going to face justice for what you did to House Vizsla, and to the Furies, and to all of Mandalore.” Slowly, you can see the Barloz be pulled away from you as you try to dock.

“Rhys!” Misri yells to you over the comms. “They got us caught in a tractor beam!” Oh, they finally fixed that? You were wondering why they didn’t use that on you back on Nar Shaddaa. Guess that sabotage even before you met them again paid off up until now. “We can’t move!”

“No, no, you’re moving,” you say, trying to calm her down. “Just… into their ship.”

“What!?” screams Misri.

You're wearing white medical clothes and your armor and equipment is nowhere to be found. You have grown a beard and the bolt in your jaw has been removed, leaving a scar behind. Bits and pieces are slowly coming back to your now drug-free mind; you and Joker were captured, brought to an unknown location and since then you've endured countless tests and torture. Evidently you don't remember everything because you're still surprised when you look down to find your lower left arm missing and a red cybernetic replacement there in its stead. Holding it up to face-level, you move each mechanical finger individually and then you close it to a fist. What have they done to you? What happened to your fellow brother? The sound of blaster fire, skirmishes and explosions are finally reaching you once more as you get a grip on your situation. Your senses have been dulled by drugs for too long. It's time to leave this place.

There is a moment's silence. A dark blot appears in the air above you, a spreading stain in the fabric of the air. It is followed by another, then another, until a swirling mass of black sphere twists together in a chaotic mess. The jumble finally resolves itself in a flash of gold and black, sweeping up to you nearly quicker than your eyes can track it.

“This is precisely the problem I mean,” the thing says. “You and your master are the same plague. You ignore law and tradition for what is expedient and convenient.”

It sweeps away in a blur of feathered robes, dodging the instinctive sword-swipe. As the mothpowder settles to the floor the figure shudders in the air violently, empty robes fluttering in an unfelt breeze. The light behind its mask glows bright.

“You alter what you find inconvenient, and ignore that which you cannot be bothered to alter.”

It jerks to one side, then drops to the ground. Skimming along the surface of the carpeted floor, it weaves in and out of the pillars around you.

“In doing so, you endanger yourself and all those who have come before you. You are a -menace-.”

You bite back the scathing reply boiling in the back of your throat, watching the thing dart to and fro. It moves without rhyme or reason, tangling itself in the hanging curtains, sweeping along the ceiling in weaving patterns.

It finally slows to a halt, floating before you to gaze at you sidelong. The glowing moon-like horn atop its mask (head?) gleams in the hazy light.

“You are not worthy to bear the title of Totemist. I cannot cast you out, for your pact has been made, but you are not welcome here. You are a base hunter, tearing trophies from your grisly work without appreciation for the delicate infrastructure that makes such things possible.”

"Ah! The bus should be coming pretty soon!" You whisper to yourself as you rush out of your apartment taking a piece of toast with you.

As you leave the door, you noticed something interesting. The apartment right next to you was finally getting a tenant. "Hmm I wonder what kind of tenant my neighbour would be..." At that time however you had no time to help or introduce yourself. "Ah I should get going! Ruri is probably waiting for me already..." As you were going down the stairs however, you notice someone at the bottom of them.

You've never seen her before so it was safe to assume she was your new neighbour. "Ah... How am I going to move now? I can't believe the movers cancelled on me..." Around her were a ton of heavy looking boxes.

You've gotten the misfortune of facing Takenaka Hanae in your very first battle. According to that same red haired acquaintance, she is elite among the elite. If he isn't wrong, then yet again, you'll have to fight against an opponent that, at your current level, you can't beat.

At the very least, not as a swordsman.

You need to do something to give yourself an advantage. There are only a few days left for you to work something out. But either way, just giving it a try won't hurt; a wooden sword shouldn't be able to kill a Shinigami.

When the real service begins, this kind of opportunity to test your skills may become a rarity.

You've never heard of the person before, so you have no idea of their capabilities. Changing that might give you the edge you need. After all, it's likely that she doesn't know anything about you, either. And, well, there's nothing to really know about you. You're fairly average and unremarkable, as far as Academy students go, in almost every area.

But Hanae, on the contrary, is easy to learn about just by asking around. The trainees of the accelerated class who know about her don't remain without an impression; they either respect her or are fearful of her, and all of them repeat what Ryuu had claimed before - she's a cut above the rest, without a doubt.

All that remains is seeing it for yourself.
