Hey all, I'm back. So, as those of you who've been on /qst/ know, I decided to try running my return quest there, but it's kind of shit so I'm back here. Not much has substantively happened in the quest, so I feel it's better to make the change now than later. Yes, I'm calling this part one.
Basically, this is a "murder mystery"-themed quest modeled after Tsukihime, Kara no Kyoukai, and Case Files, drawing from the larger Nasuverse as a whole. For those of you who prefer Fate/stuff, consider giving this a try anyway, and if enough people want it then I might start a Fate thing after this quest finishes.
For quest information, some quick Nasuverse info bullet points, Twitter, and
Ask.fm, see
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mKfXYYoB2QlYCUsIUyCKR6aq0oa8JfqA4xgH6kVo43M/pubNow then, let's get to business. Even though a brief summary is in the info doc, I'll be posting an account of what all's happened so far just so that everything's self-contained in /tg/, and then we'll get to it.

The Clock Tower, the central pillar of the modern-day Mage's Association. It is in this place that you have studied magecraft, a student of Alchemy.
At its simplest, the western form of Alchemy, the form that you and the rest of its Clock Tower practitioners study in, is the art of changing something into something else. This takes myriad forms.
For instance, the creation of artificial life forms is a common pursuit. Among Alchemists, the name "Einzbern" is well-known, a German family that could be called the greatest in the world at creating artificial humans...though their true nature is a fair amount more tragic.
Another common example is manipulation of metals through transmutation, altering their form.
While you yourself do not know this, a certain Istari magus has used Alchemy to create "fire that freezes" by borrowing the concept of oil, which is "water that burns". This example perhaps best illustrates how versatile Alchemy is.
