He nods, “I’ll be waiting by the back door.” He sets you on the street, before leaping over the house.
You let yourself in, mum rising to heat your food as you sit down. “Hey hun.” She grins, “Gettin swole?” She flexes in good natured jest. “You smell to nice to have been exercising.”
“Not quite.” You thank her as she sets your food down, staring at all the papers littered around the desk. “Are these your old notes?”
She nods, “Fourteen weeks, final year project.” She smirks, “And your father makes fun of me for keeping these around.” She claps her hands on the table as you chow down. “So, what have you been doing then?”
You try to search for how to put this. She’s got a pretty flexible world view, but… 8 foot lion man just walking into the kitchen without warning will probably push even her.
“I… think your project, these… Tamagotchi things.” You twitch a paper closer, cute little blocky character designs all over it. “They… evolved, in concept.” She tilts her head, “Did you ever upload the programs somewhere with an internet connection?”
She shrugs, “Well, yeah, college database, that place has got the best connection in the city.” Hmm. “What do you mean evolved though? Someone took my idea, changed it and is selling it?” She frowns, “This why I never cared for capitalism, I tell you-”
You cut her off before she can start rambling, “No, when I say evolved… I mean, like, Darwinian. They became tougher, stronger, smarter. They have a whole world, and I was there. I was there for seven weeks in the space of one afternoon, and my friends are in there still, trapped.”
She tilts her head, “Did you hit your head or something?” She asks.
