I've just delt with a lengthy ant incursion the day before. I had just gone up stairs to grab something to eat. Yet when I reached the kitchen, I found an ant columm which nearly circumnavigated the /entire room's/ perimeter. The only saving grace is I stopped them before they could actually get into any food stuffs (for some reason they were just swarming/congregating behind a tissue box next to the door). Amd so, I set out the long, laborious task of utterly erradicating the cunting column. I started with half a can of mortien for crawlers. I had to resort to spraying them with Windex there were so many. And for some reason, maggots were included in the column. Anyway, by the end of it all, I was soaked in sweat with shakey hands (no,I'm not exaggerating) from so much killing. I felt like I just wen't through fuckin' 'Nam, and was just experiencing the calm of the storm. So, with all due respect to colonies that keep our world healthy... FUCK. BLACK. ANTS. #warishell

Sup /an/. Was going to make this thread in /o/ but I realized they probably wouldn't give a shit. Bought a car from a buddy of mine a month ago. Discovered that once the sun goes down, about 20-30 of pic related (Cellar spiders, AKA Daddy-Long-Leg spider) crawl out from every nook and cranny, make a bunch of webs, and basically disappear by sunup. From what I can tell they're not venomous, and I'm not an arachnophobe so I don't much care, aside from the fact that passengers might freak the fuck out. Should I let the spider-bros chill in my car, or should I do something about them?
Anonymous
>>2068080 Take the car to get detailed, and make it a point to tell them that there's a small spider colony living in your car. Make sure you tip them decently. Spiders should be gone after that.
Even if you aren't an arachnophobe, I'm sure you'll drive happier knowing that a spider wont drop onto your lap when you're going 80mph down a highway. That shit would spook anyone
Anonymous
>>2071062 >That shit would spook anyone This.
Noone in Australia has died from a spider bite in a very long time. However, plenty of Australians have died from losing control of their car as they freak out over a spider dropping into their lap.

Is my dog about to die? My dog was mostly fine yesterday. She's an overweight 13 year beagle, and she has cushions, so we know the end is near. But she was fine today, but tonight she just started barking/howling in the house for no reason. He legs have been giving out for the last 4 months, but tonight has to be the worst. Tried to give her her pain pills in her favorite foods, just yesterday she was begging for everything I ate. Tried to put her pill in a cooked porkchop, she won't eat it. She won't touch her dog food now, she won't even eat meat that the pill isn't in. When I hold it to her mouth, she instead licked my wrist. Then I notice she vomited a sizable amount near her cage, with a lot of grass in it. She's walking around the house, stopping and laying down, places she never wood because we have hard wood floors. She even went in my room, which she never does, and I wasn't even in it and layed on a pile of dirty cloths, then started barking. We've had some dead rats in the back yard from the garage poison, bet we put her on a rope in the front yard, never in the back. I don't think she eats dead animals or a rat made it to the front yard. She's also licking her paws and the floor a lot. Is tonight the night?

I live in a studio apartment. My neighbor lives in an apartment below mine. We live right across the street from a park the size of a golf course. When my neighbor leaves for work, he just lets his cat outside. Cat chills and plays, and socializes with other cats. Hangs out all day. When he comes home, the cat is eager to see him, and runs inside with him. Thoughts on this /an/? He has a collar on his cat, but seems pretty nonchalant about just leaving it to it's own devices outside all day. I was going to adopt a cat and do the same. Is a studio apartment enough room for a cat? How long do you think I should keep it inside before letting it go out exploring and hope it comes back?

>>1991948 Shit. Forgot to add one important detail.
He's damn shy and he doesnt approach strangers/other animals nor does he let them near. He'll only warm up to other neighborhood pets as long as thwyre friendly, as well as people I interact with more than twice at least. I think that's a big factor here.

>>1991948 it depends on the owner.
how shitty and lazy the owner is to be specific.

>>1991996 You can't seem to hold a discussion without resorting to instant assumptions. So here's one for you: You're a gigantic cuca faggot bitch owner with an eastreaching dick that won't listen to your ahhh who am I kidding. Arguing with a confrontational thick-skulled brat on 4chan. Now that's bullshit.
>>1989273 Anon, I'd say keep it inside. Whatever cat you're getting is likely a common indoors type. You can let it out as long you tag along and keep an eye on it.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>1992021 Ack hold on, gotta be clearer: keep it inside for the most part but don't be afraid to let it out either. Tagging along would be best because, well, you never know. Even if tagging along just means watching it while you sit outside and practice origami or whatever

>>1989273 OP, depends on the cat. If you adopt a cat that's been in a cage most of its life at the rescue, it probably would be scared and confused when you leave it outside for 10 hrs. If you adopt a former street cat, it might work as they would have the skills to survive.
I have two cats, one I've had since she was a kitten and one I tamed from the wild when he was a couple years old. The former gets lost 5 ft from the house and is not allowed out unsupervised. The other has street smarts and is wary of everything and everyone but me. He insisted on living outside despite -20 degree winters for the first year or so that I took care of him. He would hang from his nails on the window frame and scream for hours starting at 3 am. He only stopped doing this when we moved and he didn't know how to get outside anymore. I don't let him outside now because I think he might run back to our old house if I did. I know he could survive though, I've seen him deal with asshole tom cats and he knows how to hide from coyotes. He also stayed out of the road.
Cats raised by other cats seem to survive ok in the wild. They aren't good for wild birds though.

North Louisiana though, and in my area we've actually got a pretty healthy number of gators about thanks to the alligator farm nearby that has some get loose EVERY FUCKING TIME IT RAINS
They're still cool as fuck though, I guess unless you play golf because every damn course has about 1 gator per water hazard

>>2026859 Safety: Damage Control and get off.
Training: YEEEE HAAWWWW RIDE THAT SUCKER INTO THE GROUND.
As far as recovery goes, especially being a teaching assistant with beginning riding, all I can say is this: It's a simple as getting back on. Not to say getting back on a horse thats a time bomb waiting to happen, but sort of like writing the first word in a paper. Otherwise seen people (less then a handful luckily over 3 years) who fell kind of just stare at the side of a horse they're riding, regardless if they fell off or had a incident on it or not.
Also helps to do ground training an exercises on horses. Some people know all about riding them but know jackshit with reading and taking care of them. LAPD mounted are the prime example of this. They can ride anywhere and whack the shit out of niggas and liberals with their beatsticks but can't figure out for the life of them what to feed their horses (other then barn people of course).

> It's a simple as getting back on. Yeah, I have mounted that horse again meanwhile, and felt much better after trotting around a bit. That horse gets a bit too hot really quick and speeds up to get really close to the horse in front. I still need to learn how to properly calm him down while on his back... But, other than that, it went fine, I even did some jumping and the horse didn't try to avoid the jumps.
Only ground exercise I've ever heard of is lunging. Googled a bit and seems like there's a lot more of interesting things I could do with him. After finals I'll have some more free time, might see if I can talk with school owner to do some of those exercises with that horse. Thanks for the tips, m8!

So, beginner gardener here, no real idea what I'm doing... How do I get the grass n' shit out of my patches? I don't think it's even weeds, just punk ass grass.
Anonymous
>>1875054 By the former do you mean to just dig out the top few inches?

>>1875069 If you cut into the grass, and under the majority of roots, you can just roll it up like a carpet.
Sod farms do it all the time. Use it to patch bare spots in your lawn or something.
