Unlike America's jail cells where a lot of rape cases happen, Japan's prisons have plenty of space and not much rape. However, this leads to frequent use of social isolation as punishment which in America is usually reserved for maximum offenders and gang leaders, terrorists, etc.
Do you know Japanese cops all have the power to arrest you without evidence and hold you up in jail for 28 days straight? And foreigners/illegals are usually refused the right to speak to a lawyet?
