What homebrew do you use? Anything from full on splats or groups to just simple house rules that you use to keep things in check. How do they change things?

If you look at Ogryn, Squats and Ratlings, it's clear the Imperium of Man has a history of recruiting near-human creatures into their ranks. But what about the eldar? Why are they so often viewed entirely as xenos when they are physically quite human, not (strictly speaking) chaos tainted and on the whole one of the few agreeable races in the 40k universe. Insofar a super-arrogant race of space-elves can be agreeable, of course. They don't seem to relish in destroying mankind, at least. Why don't the Imperium try to foster better relations to them, like they do other humanoids who aren't green or tripping the warp fantastic?

Anyone play western-themed RPGs? What are the best systems? Any stories to tell?

The kingdom is under siege.

After having co-existed with the Wolves of the forest for centuries, they have broken peace between your two peoples. Raiding parties from the forest that defines your eastern border have spread across the countryside terrorizing the frontiers, slaughtering the defenders, drugging and bewitching the populace of isolated communities, and carrying them off as pliant slaves eager to serve their wolf masters. Their raids grow bolder with each day and you fear they may be attempting to infiltrate some of the larger cities as well with their subversive and treacherous tactics.

The future of the kingdom and its people are in grave danger, and the wolf menace if left unchecked threatens to snuff out the light of civilization from the world. How do you stop the wolf menace and save your people from enslavement?
