These days it’s pretty common for the members of the middle class and up to have their own personal Virtual Intelligence (VI). They’re less “intelligent” than a full AI but just as effective at getting the job done, so long as that job isn’t piloting a starship. Much like cybernetics in general, the current socioeconomic system meant you personally didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting one until recently. Now that you have one though? You can’t say you like it, yet you can’t exactly decry its usefulness. Especially if half of what Qwin said turns out to be true.

As we’re using a simplified Traveller system most rolls will be 2d6 versus a number (typically 8). In an attempt to allow the most people to participate in the rolls I let four people roll a single d6. The lowest two are then dropped and the remaining die added together with bonuses/modifiers (if applicable).

To be clear: Rolls DO NOT count until they are called for. And not every DC/Modifier will be shown. Choices with checks on them may not always be highlighted or obvious.

In the highly likely event that the Dice Gods are assholes you have the option of making a single roll result a 9. Most of the time this means an automatic success but it will come with a caveat of sorts in the narrative. It also can only be used every other session.

This is all very much an exercise in seeing what works and what doesn’t in a new system and a new world, so there’s bound to be times where something doesn’t add up right or needs further explanation. Just speak up and we’ll try to bridge the gap. Unless it’s about the Dice Gods - talk to Not!Moot about that.

Your name is Thomas Cairn, and you have no clue what you jumped into. So you managed to get a mentor, Wrench, so that you could learn the Hero business. Of course the only way to learn is experience, so you spent a good portion of your free time breaking up Mafia operations around Cosmopolis.

The people have taken a shine to you. They were scared about The Red Rider's "hiatus", but now that you're here they think that, like other normal Supers, he passed on the torch. The crowds love you, every time you fly by at least 20 phones come out, but no good comes without a price...

Alright, guys, listen up. There's a big problem near one of the dock towns and we've been called up. Sounds like one of those crazy-ass mages decided to terrorize them by releasing the kraken. Yeah, yeah, very funny, laugh it up. They didn't just release one, though - there's around ten of them there that are trying to smash the place up. It's wrecking the whole beach up. Now I know the plan's usually 'smash smash smash' but we actually have to think a bit for this one, people - how do we deal with this shit?
