Hey /tg/,

So I run a minecraft role play server, set within the dwarf fortress universe. Players can join one of four races, Dwarves, Humans, Elves and Kobolds. We use plugins to restrict certain items such as brewing stands to dwarves, so each race has something specific they can use to trade to other races. Right now we're looking for new players to join. We have a small but dedicated player base for each race and we're as close to Dwarf Fortress as we can get, but allowing for players to freely roleplay in their own way.

We ask that players use skins, character names and in character dialogue that reflect the races well. This is pretty much kept up to the player's discretion, but there are skins available on the support forum. Kobolds within the setting are traditionally "cutebold" style - cutebold skins are available on the server's support forum- but scaley bolds are also welcome as kobolds are a sort of mongrel race.

We also have simplified rules, and have let players take their races in certain thematic directions that doesn't hurt the overall setting. Example, the Elves have developed into building in Aztecian style and utilise a zigguraut for sacrifice. Because of a botched ceremony (the kobold they were going to offer up escaped mid ceremony) they're currently under the effects of a curse. We emphasise community in the server too, so that a city can be truly built by many hands.

We also utilise civilisation rankings, giving players rewards for roleplay and craftsman/elf/dorfship of their capitals. We've smoothed out a lot of wrinkles from since the server's inception and intend to focus heavily on Role Play. Each race will be in opposition to the other, creating tensions and the moderators will run server wide events, such as goblin invasions and monster attacks.

Mushroom Folk tap and farm in the dark, allied with your Tribe through mutual protection. Humans and Hobgoblins explore the tunnels, falling victim to your ambushes. Slave workers are consumed and hunted without remorse, their homes no longer safe. Holy warriors explore the sewers to investigate your tribe and the threat you may pose. A crocodilian Queen rules her territory with an iron claw and her brutal children, indebted to your kindness. The Sewers turned into a warground by the forces of the warring Guilds. The Mages send abominations into the sewers, hunting for you. Strange beings slither through the Dark. Monstrous mutants begin to hunt your kind. A strange undead with connections to the surface seems curious of your kind and shelters a strange pupil. Cultists worship and praise alien masters only seen through dreams and nightmares.

The Dark is unforgiving but so are you.

That's dumb even by 40k standards. I can understand the Tau, their reasonable...but nids. The fuck? Then again it could just mean creeps, but NECRONS!?

The sound of a drop of saliva hitting the table momentarily breaks the ensuing silence.

In response, she nibbles on your ear. It would probably feel nice if she didn't look like she wanted to crack your skull open. "Just a little taste," she murmurs pleadingly. "Then I can stop being so... hungry."

The emphasis on the last word sends shivers down your spine.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.

• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic. Have fun, make it weird, but keep it realistic.
