That doesn't mean that liking historical armour designs in media, fantasy or otherwise is immature, it's just that you're not gonna lose sleep over it, and you can appreciate designs that take artistic liberties.
My thought has always been that there is a time and a place for it. If you present a world as very down to earth and grimey and realistic, I'll get a bit taken out of it if the women all have doubld d breast plates on.
If it's a fun fantasy romp then it's just fun.
