So, /tg/; In my recent Dark Heresy game, the Acolytes are in deep shit. An Alpha-level Psyker has driven the inhabitants of a Hive insane with paranoia and rage, and they're doing their best to massacre any 'outsiders' as the Acolytes make an end-run for their target. (They have what's basically a psyk-out bomb that they plan to detonate once they reach his compound.) Now, I want this to be a very chaotic, Black Hawk Down-style sequence; Sort of like when an enraged mob of Somalis are literally running parallel to the US Marines in the film. My problem, however, is this: How do I describe this? It feels that having an in-depth description of each part of the city would be pointless; The whole thing is supposed to be a frantic, running gun battle through the streets as they fight packs of insane civilians and PDF elements. What's a good way to do a frantic urban battle sequence?

Hmmm, maybe have them dash through a factory/construction area where they can use the environment as a weapon; like dropping a massive crate of stuff onto a crowd of PDF or rigging explosives to the supports to a section of the Hive to collapse it onto the big bad. Could also run your players through a sort-of gauntlet, where they have to avoid fire from two different bands of PDF or criminal scum trying to off each other. Have the Acolytes be chased by some mind-bent Arbitrators and their attack dogs.

Dark Heresy 2nd Ed has been officially announced. Judging by the description and the beta/playtest material that was released it looks like a relatively soft update. So, what do we know about the new rules and setting so far? What would we all like to see included in this new edition? What would we like to see consigned to the fires of purification? Discuss!

I didn't realize that we, the entire tabletop community, were mistreating female players. Well, its good this has come to light because as an institution we are clearly capable of affecting the goings on for all of our gaming groups. Here's a thought: Maybe if someone is treating you like shit you shouldn't play with them.

This is because they use distributed data processing to improve their battlefield performance, and as more units are taken offline, they lose processing power, and slow down.

Some changes I propose, mostly regarding names. Eye Connection- Name it Satellite Permutation Freeze Heavy- Name it Cryoshocker, limit one squad, max squad size 2-3 Clap Driver- Rename Raid Disruptor, possibly move to Fast Attack Conditioned Reflex Infantry- I'd really just pull these guys completely Vivisector- Remove the compulsory inclusion Mock Attenteevs- Rename Harvest Compliant Slip Attenteevs- Rename Tactical Compliant Slip Asserteevs- Rename Pacifier / Pacifier Compliant (lolDuffy), refluff to use a Thermabsorb freeze-flamer like the Cryoshocker and the Raid Eye. Slip Discordant- Rename Entropic Striker Clap Mote- Replace with Raid Eye Clap Derivateev- Rename Blinkhawk Mineral Asserteevs- Just call them Nanite Swarms, give them a Test Token limit equal to the number of units in the squad. Discordant Manifesteev- Not entirely following the mechanics on this one, someone else can deal with it. Clap Jubilant- Rename Dismantler The Slip Jubilant, Independence Day Ship and Clap Excesseev all need new names, but I can't come up with anything decent atm. I do prefer Blower as a working nickname for the last one though, so we can avoid using those stupid -eev names. I'm going to start statting the Compliants.

I thought these guys seemed cool, and was hoping to contribute to the hq slots, For the Iron Watcher Ws:7 Bs:4 S:5 t:4 w:3 I:6 A:4 Ld:10 Sv:3+ Unit type: Infantry(character) Wargear: (custom power weapon) (pistol weapon or maybe a short range many shot ranged weapon) (grenades) (heavy armor(probably something that makes him move faster)) Special Rules: Fearless, fleet, independent character, this is just a very rough lay out, just to try and get some concrete ideas going. I also had an idea for some rule that gives them weakness to weapons with haywire. I also remember liking the idea of a general grevious like hq, although that's sorta the idea behind the swarmlord. just food for thought

So I think I'm gonna with Eldesou as their proper name, what they refer to themselves as and their common name among the other races will be Venaris because reasons. Thank you very much everyone. If y'all got the time, I need to come up with names for a fox people and bear people races.
DM STONES
Quoted By:
>>32230012 The fox people are interesting in that it's common for them to have large families. Like, it's normal for an individual to have 9 or 11 brothers and sisters.
The reason for the large families is because culturally they're mercs for hire and the mortality rate is kinda high.
Think less ninja and assassins and more knights and fighters.
They tend to live in or near large communities of other races in order to get work.
