You can have fortification networks so you can take 3 void shield generators with 3 shields each, meaning you have 9 AV12 regenerating bubbles to protect your army. This is pretty much the death of ranged armies like Tau. If they enter the bubble to shoot at you, they are in your rapid fire/charge range. Place your network at the middle of the table and your shields will touch the start of their deployment zone and allow you to fire at the edge of their table.

Since I play Space Sharks I never liked fortifications as the fluff for my army is that they are drifters and attack fortifications, not defend them, but I was thinking of building my fortifications as half buried in the sand, because they were dropped into battle from a Thunderhawk zooming by.

The void shields will really help my army not get shot to shit before reaching the enemy.

This is pretty sweet. I have lamented not being able to field IG artillery due to lol wave serpent shields. Now, they have to pass through AV 12 with their shots to get to my Manticore Rocket Launcher. This is pretty sweet. It also combos well with my IG blob. I can take void shields on my Aegis to protect not only my Guardsmen even more but also protect all my precious tanks.

I am loving this more and more. This might be the end for Wave Serpent spam as well.

First, there's no statting the fighter. Just imagine him or her for yourself. Second, it doesn't matter. Make it up, every else (err, in the previous threads, that is) did so just fine. It's not different to any other CYOA where you're asked to pick a magic potion, or a robot suit.

I & L always seems like the best choice. Focus on accumulating wealth, through ownership of two huge planetary bodies plus almost $3,000 every day. With the money you can live practically forever and once you start to make it really big you can buy the non-upgraded version, making it even easier to make the big $$$. While it would take forever to get enough wealth to get all of them, you practically have an infinite amount of time. After that you can donate your money and use your superpowers to benefit humanity. You and everyone else basically live in paradise. :D

I'm assuming your mean to play as doing it as an NPC is easy enough by fitting them out with whatever they need to be close to their vidya but making a playable character is likely damn hard depending on the system.
Point buy won't usually give you enough points as most vidya main characters are shit hard to start with.
Can you give us an example? Who/what system you're thinking of.

Our DM once brought in Boba Fett as a GreatSword wielding merc.

We never did find out if he had the jetpack. Never wound up using his arm-crossbow either.
