Custom Magic Card Topic, Seeking feedback
I got a few new mechanics to show.

Greetings, /tg/. Once again I bring /co/ over for a game of Dofus: Les Vents d'émeraude. Before I summarize our first session, let me briefly explain the way things work for newcomers.

- Since the book is in French only, I tell you what's happening and give you the choices.
- You guys tell me want you want to do and I tell you the outcome. Bear with me as I translate and summarize everything on the fly (it usually takes me about 5 minutes).
- Always roll 1d10 (dice+1d10 in e-mail field) with your post; I follow the majority vote after about 5 minutes, but in case of a tie the highest score wins.
- Remember that you can drink a potion at the end of a non-combat paragraph or use your special ability at the end of a combat paragraph. I will not always ask for that specifically, but I will point out when we enter a combat paragraph.
- Your healing potions restore 1 HP. Your Grobid potions take you to Grobid's Tavern, where you can drink Water of Youth to restore all HP (which I assume you always do as soon as you're in), purchase gear, rent a chest and play dice for money.

Hey /tg/. I'm bringing /co/ over to play the Dofus gamebook. You decide what we do and I tell you the outcome. I'll be translating from French on the fly, so please be patient and excuse typos and stuff.

We're going to keep things simple. When I give you a choice, you reply with the paragraph you want to go to, and specify if you want to activate your ability (in-combat only) or drink a potion (out-of-combat only) – healing for 1 HP, or Grobid to visit the Tavern – before we move. At the Tavern, you can buy equipment and backpack slots (you start with 4), heal your HP and earn money.

Roll 1d10 every time you suggest an action/paragraph. I'll try to go with the most popular choice after a few minutes, but in case of a tie I'll go with the highest total. ("dice+1d10" in the e-mail field).

I need a few minutes to finish preparing my stuff, so while we wait for more people to join in, let's pick a gender and name for our character!

Engineers at DARPA are working frantically to speed up development of rail guns and laser weapons for ships and tanks, but they are a ways off. Man-portable weapons are decades away. The army needs to be re-equipped and re-trained NOW.

What should our now melee-focused soldiers be given? You can use any weapon from any era of history, to be built with modern manufacturing techniques and materials.

Military planners are requesting at least one ranged weapon (such as bow/crossbow), one mid-range weapon (such as spear/polearm), and one close-range weapon (such as sword/axe).
What are your recommendations /TG/?
