For those who weren't able to get this during the Free RPG day, here's a PDF scan of the "Shadows of a Black Sun" adventure.
Article about the adventure:
http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4095 Seems pretty cool to me, gonna print it out to try it one of these days.

>>25533334 I ran it a bit ago, Edge just has a lot of fiddly parts that makes it annoying. Plus if you don't have the dice and just want to try the game out, you spend a lot of time fumbling with a table. As a DM it's a pretty nice adventure and system, hell most of the rolling is done by the Players I just tell them what's going on and what the difficulty is.
Can someone more familiar with the system tell me what the hell is up with the Obligation system? It doesn't make any sense to me, somehow stealing weapons from the group you are affiliated AGAINST puts the Smuggler's brother further in debt (for example). Or, better example, how the hell does the Trandoshan's "Betrayal" obligation work? If he takes more obligation, does that mean that in addition to being Zeroed, he got strung up on a pole with his underpants or something?

>>25533485 I like it a lot, but I haven't been able to play it yet.
I like the dice, but it is a pain that you can't use normal dice as well, since passing the set around is tedious (and using the app to roll isn't as satisfying).
I actually made a Star Wars homebrew a few years ago that had a similar system to the threat/advantage system used in this game, except you only rolled one die to determine the nature of the result. The actual success/failure roll was made using one or two standard dice. Much less time spent counting symbols, that's for sure.

So, I've been reading up on the VC1 artbook I recently got and find out some crazy shit that never made it to the final game, like armored velociraptor cavalry, battlemechs, airships, and little chibi sturmtiger edelweiss. Also, to my amusement, Darcsens were originally going to be a race of cat-eared people, so in some twisted alternate universe, Tarin, Heloise, and Artya would've been catgirls... Anyways, back to the subject at hand! try ebay and see if you can get the dark vengeance rulebook (seems to usually go for $20-$30 ish). Codex's you're not gonna find much cheaper than GW anywhere.
For digital copies there's pirateby.

I'll say it here, Tau has no answer to a deepstriking Wraithknight with suncannon and scattershield. All tau players have somewhat complained about the thing. Here is how it goes: Wraithknight deepstrikes and moves very close to the largest concentration of tau infantry. Being intercepted on quite a few games. he makes one of his saves and everyone gets blinded. (good luck with Ini2/3). His shots have the hidden rule of ignoring cover because he is so big he sees through an aegis defense line, most ruins, etc. This gives momentum to my shining spears assault. A night spinner with crystal targetting matrix follows getting the rear/sides of vehicles or shooting at infantry. 10 rangers 5 pathfinders and Illic try to pin everyone down, if the farseer was lucky he helps with eldrich storm. If the Hemlock is already on the board rage is assured. I usually play between 1750-1850.

Gentlemen and ladies. Chances are that if you are reading this you are a human with at least 2% Neanderthal DNA. Our ancient ancestors bred the Neanderthals out of existence. And the fact that you have 2% Neanderthal DNA rather than being a Neanderthal with 2% Human DNA says a lot about how it happened. The only way for us to breed them out rather than them to breed us out is if a bunch of our men had sex with a bunch of their women, rather than a bunch of their men having sex with a bunch of our women. If you think about it, the reason why should be obvious. Look at them. Neanderthals were short, ultra stacked, and brilliant. Our ancestors were tall, skinny, lean runner types. So I present you with a theory. Their women were basically ca/tg/irls with amazon muscles, and to them, our ancestors were tall bishonen types. Our elves outbred their dwarves. History is awesome.

>>25494041 I would assume that, like some anon said earlier, they either reincarnate as well, but your path for this reason or that never crosses theirs; or, if you're of the religious sort (and I know I am), they all go on to heaven/nirvana/whatever you want to believe in, and wait for you, where you can have good times for eternity.
And even if they DO vanish from existence when it's their turn to go, you still allowed their existence (with the exception of one) to extend at least double. They would thank you for it, I'm sure. And even the one that only had the one life with you all would have lived a happy, fun, and good life.
