Has anyone managed to get hold of this book yet? What sort of stuff is in it?

Someone is trying to outbid me at the last second for this fine-ass Wave Serpent, is up to $40 AUS as of now with 30 minutes left. I already got a Night Spinner off the guy for $40 and am currently sitting on $20 for a Base Coated Wave Serpent. All I have in the tank division is a Falcon Grav and a War-Walker including my soon to be Night Spinner. Should I keep bidding on this baby or just see if I can get the base coated model? Has anyone on /tg/ had experience with Anima: Beyond Fantasy? I just got the pdfs from a friend and am thinking of giving them a scan. I understand that it is basically JRPG: The Tabletop Edition, which I can get behind. I enjoy them, so that's not really a negative point. I might even use these rules to run a straight up Final Fantasy level batshit game one day after a current game I GM wraps up. What I most want to know as I begin to dive in to these books is whether the system is any good. I enjoy FFG's work on the 40k games, but I also know that Anima is a radically different system. So not sure what I might be in for.
