What are some good Science Fantasy games and settings out there? Destiny and Endless Legend made me want to run a campaign like that. Is Numenera any good?

What is the farthest point into the future that you've ever seen a piece of media set be it book, film or video game?

Invisible Sun

So, /tg/ I've just ordered a Black Cube for Invisible Sun. I've noticed that I haven't really seen anything about the game posted on here. How does /tg/ feel about Invisible Sun? Anyone who has tried it care to tell me about their experiences with the game?

Shadow of the Demon Lord General

No.65687991 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
>What is Shadow of the Demon Lord?:
Shadow of the Demon Lord is a horror-fantasy tabletop adventure game that presents a world standing on the brink of annihilation. In this game, you and your friends play characters charged with fighting back against the spreading evil, whether that involves tracking down potent relics, exploring ancient faerie ruins, journeying into Hell to bargain with the Devil, or battling demons and the cultists who summon them.

Masters of the Universe as game inspiration

No.66988386 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Much of the original art for the Masters of the Universe /toy/s was painted by Earl Norem and Esteban Maroto, who also did art for Marvel's Conan. This makes MotU look like a Kitchen Sinkier version of Sword & Sorcery. Good gaming inspiration?
Let's brainstorm:

Year 1
The He-Man archetype is a Strength hero, either the son of a king or from a jungle tribe who advances from hunter-gatherer to user of armor and other technology as he encounters it by making allies.
The Man-at-Arms is a mace-wielding smith or engineer in a loincloth and fur boots who makes the setting's advanced tech: bronze plate armor? Automatons?
Teela is a warrior demigoddess, unknowing daughter of a snake goddess or inhuman sorceress with a falcon theme.
Stratos is a winged ape from a mountain population of same. Probably have more cache if you made him a bad guy like the degenerate winged ape who killed Belit in "Queen of the Black Coast".
Beast Man is a regular ape man, who has the power to command any beast. If you treat Jungle He-Man as a Tarzan type, I see potential to trade him to Team Good for Stratos.
Skeletor is basically Thulsa Doom from Howard's King Kull. Take game rules for a lich but let them be buff.
Merman is the Deep One/Gillman archetype, standing out from his kind by being a sea-themed Summoner.
Zodac is a "cosmic enforcer", a hairy-chested dude with feet like Skeletor's, in a helmet and light body armor with a high-tech gun. They probably got around to lore explaining what a "cosmic enforcer" is, but we can be creative.
Castle Greyskull is the above-ground part of a megadungeon. Secrets of ultimate power were buried here.

/wbg/ Worldbuilding General - Shitty Wizards

No.67536715 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Welcome to /wbg/, the official thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to flesh out the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art (either created by you or used as inspiration for your work). Please remember that replying to other posters is what keeps the thread alive, not dumping walls of text.

Thread Questions:
>Can magic spells or reserach backfire or cause unwanted consequences in your setting?
>How royally screwed can people get around bad Wizards? Are the negative effects mostly regulated to the caster, their surroundings, or the laws of reality themselves?
>Have any new species, races, self-replicating curses, cursed magic items, or other phenomena occurred due to a bad or at least flippant Wizard?
>Have any institutions; magical, secular, religious, or otherwise, sought to regulate or limit magic use and abuse? How do they enforce these laws?

So was the Emperor always 8ft tall, or did he just grow to suit the battles during during the techno-barbarian age? And he isn't just tall like Shaquille O'neal, he's massively built

I'd imagine a unusually huge man would stand out in whatever secretive circles he entered prior to the year 10'000.
