How do you make an interesting and charismatic BBEG, with an imponent story and reasoning, without making the players feel shadowed and not falling in the "i'm telling my own story and you're partecipating" trap?

STEP 2:
Grab your documents. Da Archives are multiple documents, and chances are good one of them has what you're looking for. Check filenames if this step is confusing.

STEP 3:
Get comfortable and browse through the blasted things! Use CTRL+F to search for a keyword. If you're too specific, it may not register. The first several pages of Da Archive list massive personal collections. These are also useful, and if you decide to ignore them, you'll be missing 7,654 PDFs. Spelunking is often half the fun!

How would you do a "Native Americans were left alone" kind of culture/civilization? I'm thinking early 1800s and instead of the Americas being colonized, contact with the natives was kept to regular trade and maybe small wars (basically treated like any European nation). Also no plagues.
