I really don't understand how anyone can stand to use Linux. I tried Debian, Ubuntu, and even Pop!_OS, and had issues with all three that were not worth fixing when I can just reinstall macOS and get a working experience OOB.
All three distros failed to play nicely with my DisplayLink adapter, causing screen tearing and latency issues on my second monitor. Ubuntu didn't have this issue with Wayland, but Wayland gives nothing but a black screen in fullscreen apps, so I had to use Xorg, which had the screen tearing issues. Even with the community-made drivers specifically for this purpose, still no good.
Then, even with DisplayLink working, half the time apps would open up on my second monitor (not set as primary in display settings) which is a portrait monitor so the streaming resolution would get all fucked up.
And to top it all off, turning off the monitors so I can stream from my phone while away from my computer would screw up the streaming and cause all sorts of distortion and graphical bugs. I have an HDMI dongle that simulates a 1080p display that works beautifully and with no issues on macOS.
I tried half a dozen distros but it's just not stable enough yet.
