Why don't you have a Macbook Pro /g/? I received mine today and absolutely love it. Sure it's more or less the average mortgage and yes it's locked down, but there's no denying the engineering brilliance of the machine.

I have an old tower and monitor laying around. I'd like to use it to set up a home security system with a camera in my front yard and back yard. I don't really need it for security but I think it'd be interesting to see the day to day going ons on the street infront of and behind my house.
Where do I get started on this? What is the price of entry?. I live in a half double and don't have full access to the basement so I don't think wired cameras are an option for me.
