What's the real reason people switch to Linux? I originally switched many years ago cause I think Linux is better and more fun to use.
But I've noticed this is not the case for everyone. I think many people switch cause they want to feel special, and they would use Linux even if it was objectively worse than the other systems.
That's why they don't want Linux to get more user-friendly, cause it'll allow normies to use their OS and then they can no longer feel special. They want the desktop market share to be permanently low, so they can artificially inflate their pathetically low self-esteem.
They want to feel like they're part of the PC user elite, and bully people who they see as inferior. I don't think having a hostile attitude towards new users is helpful, nor is it a sign of good mental health.
Using Linux is about having fun, and sharing that joy with others to make a better world.
