It cant connect to home? There doesnt seem to be a .conf file for minerd.exe. How do I set this up? Thanks for any help

I've mined other coins and when you start the miner it will ask for the url,port and user:pass. This doesnt even give me the option. Just goes right to the error message.

It's a matter of convenience. Paying for a subscription like NetFlix or using Steam/GOG is easier than piracy. You don't need a torrent client, you don't need a VPN, and you don't need a server/spare drives to host all of your files.

There's also the argument that they can get it to do 99% of what they want to do and for the other 1% of the time the kids/grandkids will sort it so why waste what precious time they have left learning something when not doing so will get the family over more often.

HFT lowers the margins between sell and buy or so they say but that's the only theoretical economic benefit I know of that it provides. Well in a free market something like this is gonna pop up eventually. You now even have bots flipping items (although much slower) on games like runescape.

They were completely believable if you consider how 8gag worked. Moderation was done like reddit where each board had its own mods appointed by the creator of the board, so some boards had the tendency to turn into echo chambers where holding an unpopular view got you banned, and the site attracted a ton of posters who would be banned here and on reddit. For example, rather than just having posters complain about someone being JIDF or whatever it is now days on /pol/ the mods would ban people. Mod enforced circle jerks + population consisting mostly of diaspora that would be banned elsewhere + conspiracy theories about outside groups trying to exert influence on boards that lead to mods looking through people's post histories to try to ban anyone they felt went against the circle jerk + lack of persistent persona allowing people to push limits without risking lasting negative effect on their reputation so long as they didn't break the circle jerk = pure cancer.
