Encryption is not in my plans, all files are public. Pomf.se, 1339.cf and Pantsu.cat have in past promised to preserve all files in Internet Archive on shutdown. nekunekus has himself also said the decision to encrypt is on the user, not the file host maintainer.

There are command line tools already that can upload such as Pomfit. Some tools also support encryption.

Pantsu.cat was really promising and looked to succeed much better than Pomf.se ever did, although it was hosted in Australia. Maybe it will return someday.

For the past three months, I've considered running a Pomf clone myself but I refuse to be the responsible sysadmin for PHP and MySQL. They are pain in the ass. I'll be more than glad to sponsor a new serious Pomf clone with both server hosting and development resources.

University forcing me to use this stupid fucking browser. It's extremely flawed (i.e. you could have permanent restrictions on your system). Technically it's a virus.

Unfortunately for me I still have to take exams, so I just installed it on my ThinkPad (it won't run in a VM), however every time I run it I get an error: "The browser cannot be used with Fast User Switching enabled. There will be a delay before the browser can be used again."

I've waited hours after using the Group Policy to disable the user switching feature in Windows 7 Pro and it still gives me this error.

Am I going to have to deal with a failed exam (due today), or is there something I can do?

So I know this topic is long dead. but. Seeing as how noone gave the solution, I figured I'd post it.

The issue with "fast user switching" is 1 of 2 things.
1. Fast user switching is in fact enabled.. (rare)
2. Your internet explorer (or safari for mac) settings are to blame. Can be caused by many things, and it's not respondus's fault (well it is, but seeing as how google chrome does the same thing with borrowing settings... point is mute). To fix internet options settings. just click start, type internet options. click internet options. go to advanced tab. click reset.. include personal data.. (since we know most people don't use ie anymore).
Now try re opening lockdown browser.

After reading through all of the comments, I figured this was easiest. If your college supports emails and messages within the website that this shit browser goes to, just send yourself a link in a message to yourself, to whatever webpage you need, and one to get back to the test. Worked for me.

Also for some reason Launchy stopped starting automatically even though according to msconfig's startup list it's on; I still have to click on the executable to get the Alt + spacebar shortcut running. What should I check to fix it?

Speaking of Launchy, why is it recommended to use it as a total replacement for Windows Search if WS is convenient for things like Control Panel?

You could try switching to this fork of greasemonkey and then seeing if you can update. It's intended for pale moon and the like, but it should work fine on old versions of firefox.

well ccd0 usually responded quickly and stuff a lot like this. also replied to threads in an archive that i'm not monitoring so don't do that. but you'll probably do it anyway

What is the anti-virus program to get now days?

Besides Windows Defender which one is the least intrusive, most efficient and effective? I know there is malwarebytes, spybot s&d, hitman pro.

Set it to silent/gaming mode.
Configure the settings for automatic scans and actions.
Configure automatic definition and program updates.

Never see or hear from the program again unless you get a seriously difficult infection.
